A Palestinian child is killed every 15 minutes in Gaza.

Remember, due to the systematic targeting of health facilities in the Gaza Strip, this is not an accurate number. These children are the “lucky martyrs” who were found- not still missing under the rubble-identifiable children deaths.

1. 259 of them weren’t even a year old. They will never celebrate their first birthday.
2. 241 of them who were 1 year old. They were killed before they could ever use their legs to walk.
3. 248 of them were 2 years old. They were killed before they could ever string a full sentence together.
4. 274 of them were 3 years old. They will forever remain a toddler.
5. That’s only memorializing 1,000 children. 1,000 children all younger than 4 years old.

Kanan’s uncle says: “The last time I heard his voice, he was crying because he saw a toy and wanted us to buy it for him, just a few days before he was martyred.”

Kanan was martyred, and he dreamt of playing like any other child in the world. The occupation killed his dream.

Kanan was martyred on October 29, 2023, in an Israeli airstrike on his home. He was only three years old, just a month away from turning four. Kanan was martyred alongside his mother, and they remained under the rubble for about three months.
