Martyr Date: 04/07/2024
The martyr, “Mohammed Maher Abed,” was one of the employees of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society. He worked as an anesthetist technician at Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis. He spent 14 years in this profession. Mohammed was married and had two children, Ahmed, who is 6 years old, and Awsam, who is 4 years old. Everyone who met him testified to his kindness and tender-heartedness.
A week before Ramadan, Mohammed’s father passed away due to multiple strokes. He attended the funeral and then went back to work. He told us that there were people who needed him. He got injured while on duty and continued to bleed until he was martyred on March 22nd, while fasting, standing guard at his workplace in Al-Amal Hospital.
We didn’t find his body until April 7th, during Mohammed’s funeral. We learned about countless acts of kindness he had done. We learned that he used to spend his money on aid and charity, dedicating his time to helping others without any fatigue or boredom
